For leaders:
Innovation and creativity are words that are no longer solely relegated to the domain of the artist. Dan Pink in his book “A Whole New Mind” identifies six aptitudes required for the Conceptual Age – Storytelling, Play, Empathy, Symphony, Design and Meaning. Art and the processes that artists use are a gateway into these aptitudes. These explorations can refresh one’s perspective and reintroduce ways of thinking and being anchored in the spirit of play and risk taking required for innovation. Busy professionals, consultants, small business owners have used an annual day of creative exploration as a way of taking the time out for reflection and refreshing.
“A day of painting with Sandy is the equivalent of a spa day for the soul.”
Stephanie Konidis.
For teams:
This video shows a painting that was created as part of a two day facilitation for the senior management team of a wonderful organization who want to take their highly successful leading edge work to the next level. This piece illustrates their vision, values and mission in a very immediate and exciting format. It will hang in a central location in their facility as an anchor and living reminder of the foundation that they have built together and the direction of growth that they see for the future. Watching the way this team planned and worked on this piece together was a joy. I can imagine that it will be added to and refined over the next while as the vision evolves and refines. Brilliant!
